Infrared & Cold Laser

Infrared & Cold Laser Therapy

Laser therapy speeds up the process of nerve-cell reconnection which decreases the time necessary for nerve cells to heal after an injury. Photons of light emitted by therapeutic lasers penetrate deeply into the tissues of the body to stimulate the production centers of individual cells. This stimulation increases the energy available to these cells causing them to absorb nutrients and expel waste products more rapidly. This dramatically accelerates the repair of injured tissue leading to faster tendon, ligament and muscle healing. Other therapeutic laser biological effects include increased metabolic activity, faster found healing, increased vascular activity, reduced fibrous tissue formation, stimulated nerve function and pain reduction.

Generally speaking, cold laser therapy is a new form of technology compared to other alternative therapies. It’s a non-obtrusive alternative to acupuncture and surgery and the process is FDA-approved. Cold laser therapy is used in two specific ways: to target acupuncture trigger points and for broad coverage of tissue and bone via infrared or red-light photons that help increase healing and decrease pain.

Whether you have an acute injury such as a ligament strain, sprain or carpal tunnel syndrome or if you have a more serious injury such as frozen shoulder or arthritis, infrared and cold laser therapy could be right in your recovery journey.

Depending on the location of the injury, a specific wavelength will be used to penetrate through your skin. Conditions such as joint pain require a deeper penetration, four to five inches below the surface of your skin.

"… Felt right for the first time in 12 years"

My back and groin pull were very bad. I saw the team trainers/docs and many outside docs. It affected my skating. I thought my career might be over. Then I saw Dr. Clendenin and his team at the Chicago Chiropractic & Sports Injury Centers. My back and groin have felt right for the first time in twelve years and my stride is so much better.

"Dr. Clendenin and his team fixed me…"

My Iron Man pitching record was at risk and my trainers were unable to fix the problem. Dr. Clendenin and his team fixed me right away, my record continued and I pitched a winner against the Sox. Thanks to the great team at the Chicago Chiropractic & Sports Injury Centers.
