Power Plate Therapy

Published by Dr. Alden Clendenin

What is A Power Plate?

When it comes to building muscles, recovering from injuries, and using physical therapy and strength training techniques to improve our overall health, modern technology has come a long way in assisting us. Through advanced chiropractic medicine, therapies, and various treatment methods, chiropractors today have the ability to develop innovative ways of helping patients heal their bodies.

One of the greatest ways people can heal themselves, from eliminating chronic pain to recovering from a sports injury, is to gain strength. Usually, whichever one area of the body is suffering is not the sole focus of treatment. In order to get rid of knee pain, hip pain, back pain, or even help heal a muscle strain, a chiropractor’s aim should often be to strengthen other muscles to help relieve tension in the area that is injured.

The Power Plate is a treatment method that uses vibrations to stimulate circulation and muscle interaction, triggering the body to respond in a way that activates rapid muscle contractions. This form of stimulation allows hormones to be released that induce a positive physical reaction usually experienced during regular forms of exercise, but at a much faster rate.

How It Works

The vibration of Power Plate utilizes what is known as Acceleration Training. Through the vibrations, it allows patients to gain strength and exercise their muscles at an advanced rate, while also allowing for enhanced rehabilitation. Patients who use the Power Plate acquire stronger muscles, lose weight, experience reduced pain, improved mobility, endurance, and more in far less time than it would ever take with traditional exercise.

The vibrations transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions up to fifty times per second. Then, those contractions lead to enhanced muscle strength, circulation, and performance in as little as fifteen minutes a day, three sessions per week.

With increased physical strength, flexibility, and mobility, patients experience faster healing following strenuous exercise, injury, and have fewer health concerns, as well.

The Power Plate is safe for everyone from high-performance, high-level athletes, to elderly patients looking for another way to improve their fitness levels and general health.
